Benefits of Becoming a Member of the California Golf Course Owners Association

The California Golf Course Owners Association (CGCOA) is dedicated to the stimulation of market growth for California's golf course industry. We promote collaborative advertising and promotional advertising programs encouraging more rounds of golf throughout California. In an effort to achieve our goals, we have initiated many programs including:

  • California Affiliation with State Tourism Promotion efforts to assist the golf industry and tourism industries. CGCOA has established a unique partnership to promote golf in California. Members receive special placement and pricing in the California golf guides and on the golf web site sponsored by the state interests promoting tourism and golf. This is the second year that golf is being featured as a major attraction for visitors to the Golden State.
  • The CGCOA has an easy-to-use web site, It has been completely rebuilt, and is designed to make the public more aware of the great golfing opportunities available in the State of California. It will be a valuable resource for golf course locations with its exclusively-built golf course locator. In addition, visitors can register for regular updates for golf opportunities and values which occur during the year. Each registrant will be listed and be on an e-mail list which will keep the golfing public advised on what's happening in the golf industry including to learn more about the golf courses they want to visit. It will be a good resource for the many values offered at California's golf courses.
  • Insurance Programs: An insurance program with substantial discounts exclusive to our members with premium coverage ranging from property liability and workers compensation to health insurance. This is a valuable resource in view of rising insurance premiums.
  • Environmental Issues: The CGCOA will assist members in initiating environmental improvements and better stewardship of the lands as well as methods of addressing emerging energy issues and concerns.
  • Economic Impact Studies: The CGCOA is a pivotal member of the State of California Coalition to study the economic and environmental impacts of the golf course industry in the state. The golf courses in California are very much a strong economic engine for recreation and tourism expenditures.
  • Governmental Affairs: The CGCOA works very closely with their representative in Sacramento on all state laws and programs which affect the golf industry. Programs are being developed to heighten legislative awareness of the golf industry and the part it plays in the economy of the state.
